King Seiko SJE095 'Chrysanthemum' Dial Limited Edition Revived in 2021, King Seiko has been on a roll, releasing pieces inspired by their rich history and distinctive design language. The SJE095 released in 2023 as a limited run of 600 units, and utilises a case which strongly resembles the original King Seiko design from 1965 and endows it with an absolutely spectacular dial known as the Chrysanthemum. This geometric pattern is known as kiku tsunagi-mon, and is inspired by the Chrysanthemum flower, a historically significant flower within Japanese culture that represents longevity and rejuvenation, a fitting tribute from the newly revived brand. The case itself measures in at 38.6mm, with a thickness of 10.7mm. It features strong lugs with large facets, and a bezel-less design which makes it feel slightly larger on the wrist. The dial shows the aforementioned intersecting lines resembling the Chrysanthemum, with applied markers, gold Seiko emblem, and topped with dagger-like hands. Powering it is the Caliber 6L35 with 45 hour power reserve, and it's 50m water resistant. Finishing it off is a lovely seven link stainless bracelet, though they look just as amazing on a strap, which is just as well as it also includes a brand new King Seiko strap on King Seiko deployant.
