Vacheron Constantin Overseas Mid-Size 37mm Blue Dial 2300V/100A-B170 The third generation of Overseas was introduced in 2016, and took quite a few steps on in terms of quality, wearability and technical prowess compared with its predecessor. Perhaps most significantly, it introduced the Calibre 5XXX series self-winding movement to the range, replacing the JLC-sourced movement in the 2nd Gen. To add to its versatility, it also gained a fantastic quick-change strap system and came equipped with three options; a classic steel bracelet with double micro-adjust in the clasp, a 'gator for dressing it up, and a rubber for dressing it down. If you are after a watch from one of the top watchmakers in the world that can be used as a daily piece, at the beach, or with a suit, we can't think of a watch that covers those bases better than the 3rd Gen Overseas from Vacheron. This particular variant is not the one you typically think of when you think of the Overseas. Now discontinued, the 2300V was the mid-size variant, and is very rarely seen on the secondary market in this configuration. It utilises a 37mm case in stainless steel, that's around 10mm thick. It houses a deep blue dial with sub-seconds at 9, applied and lumed markers, and lumed hands which elevate it from a dress piece to something that can truly cover all the bases with its removable strap combinations. Powering it is the in-house Geneva-sealed calibre 5300, with a 60 hour power reserve, lovely finishing, and one of the nicest rotors on the market in our opinion. Finishing it is the same amazing bracelet construction as seen on the 41mm models, with in-built micro-adjust and quick release system. This particular example was first sold in 2021 and presents in TZ 'Excellent' condition. The case and bezel show only very light marks, with a couple of small scratches/scuffs on the bezel between 5 and 7, and some minor marks elsewhere on the bezel. Sides of the case show some minor marks. Please see images for full condition details. Bracelet includes enough links to comfortably fit a 7.8in wrist without the extensions in use, and shows only the lightest of desk dive marks. No service history that we're aware of, but a little young for that. All functions operating as they should, and keeping COSC time measured dial-up on a timegrapher. Comes with warranty card (expired), VC rubber strap, VC 'gator strap, and VC deployant buckle. No box or other accessories. The last one of these we saw come to market was 39k AUD. Save yourself on this excellent example of a rarely seen reference.
