IWC Ingenieur Automatic 40 Blue Dial IW328907 Released in 2023, the current generation of Ingenieur feels very much an ode to the Genta designed SL 1832 of 1976, with it's screw-on bezel, stamped anti-magnetic dial with grid pattern, and that superb integrated H-link bracelet. It's a very faithful take on one of IWC's most beautiful vintage pieces, and all the better for it. The case measures in at 40mm in steel, with a thickness of 10.8mm and a reasonably compact 46mm lug-to-lug, and features a combination of brushed and polished surfaces. Within this case lies a deep blue dial with a grid pattern in relief that picks up and plays with the light in the most magnificent way. It's topped with applied and lumed indices and hands, with a discreet colour-matched date window at 3. The supple bracelet is fully brushed, with polished bevels, and feels wonderful on-wrist. Powering it is the automatic manufacture calibre 32111 with monster 120 hour power reserve, and is hidden behind a solid caseback to ensure maximum anti-magnetic properties, the entire point of the Ingenieur line from inception. It's finished off with 100m of water resistance, and could absolutely be the only watch in your collection (though that's not much fun, is it?). This particular example was first sold locally in 2025 and presents in TZ 'Near Mint' condition, with only the very lightest hints of use on the case and bezel.
