Rolex Submariner 14060 U Serial 'Tritinova' The 14060 Submariner needs little introduction, but are notable for being the last generation of the pre-ceramic Submariners, and are a sweet spot for many. Perfect proportions, modern, durable and reliable movement, and classic Sub looks with the cleaner 2 lines of text on the dial. A perfect everyday Rolex. What makes this particular version that little bit more special is the fact it's what Rolex collectors refer to as a 'Tritinova' dial. In the late 90's Rolex began transitioning from Tritium to Luminova for their hands and dials. They clearly still had tritium-denoted dial blanks on hand, so instead of wasting them they used Luminova on a Tritium-designated dial. A cool piece of Rolex history, and something Rolex collectors love. This particular example was produced in circa-1998 and and presents in very good vintage condition. The case shows wear, but remains thick with even lugs, and correct finishes. Clear numbers between the lugs, with a U727XXX serial. The bezel shows some light marks, and has an aged tritium pip. The dial is very clean, with no blemishes we can see. Sapphire crystal shows minor marks, with no chips/gouges present. Bracelet is a Rolex 93150 with 8 links, and 501B endlinks and would fit roughly a 7in wrist at full extension. Shows some stretch commensurate with its age, and desk dive marks throughout. Clasp Coronet is pronounced. Clasp is dated U10. Apparently serviced by a dealer prior to being sold to the current owner in 2022, though no records to back this up. Currently keeping COSC time at 300+ degrees of amplitude when measured dial-up on a timegrapher so we have no reason to doubt this. No box or papers. Comes with Watch Vault Travel Pod, and Watch Vault cleaning cloth.
