IWC Big Pilot Le Petit Prince Edition IW500916 - 2019

IWC Big Pilot Le Petit Prince Edition IW500916 An absolute icon of the watch world, the Big Pilot needs little introduction. The version we have here is the updated IW500916, which was released in 2016 and has some important changes over its predecessor. Firstly, it's dial is more reminiscent of the original Big Pilot, with its triangular 12 o'clock index now moving back below the minute track, and the 9 now appearing on the dial, both of which create a more harmonious and balanced look compared to its predecessor. This particular Le Petit Prince version is a personal favourite of this revised lineup, and features the most amazing shade of blue for the dial. Combined with the 46mm Big Pilot brushed case with lovely high-polish bevels, a beautiful Santoni strap with steel deployant, and powered by the Cal. 5111 7 day movement, it's one of the truly great Pilot's watches. This one-owner watch was purchased locally in 2019, and presents in TZ 'Good' condition. Has been worn regularly, and shows some scuffs and scratching, with the most noticeable marks being on the side of the case on the lower left lug, and on the top of the upper right lug. The rest of the case and case back shows rub marks, and small scratches, and there's a small pin dent on the left side of the case as well as some dings on the polished bezel which are the reason for the 'Good' rather than 'Very Good' grading according to the TZ scale. Please see images for full condition details. Comes with three IWC straps. Currently mounted to the original strap, which is in excellent condition. It also includes a dark brown and dark brown grained options, which show wear but have plenty of life left. Deployant buckle shows desk dive marks. No service history as it's still under IWC extended warranty. Keeping time at around +10 secs a day at 300+ degrees of amplitude, measured dial-up on a timegrapher. Remains under warranty until Jan 2027. Comes with outer box, inner box (shows some deterioration around the pillow which is standard for these), warranty card, warranty book, instruction manual, IWC cleaning cloth and two IWC straps. Here's a fantastic example of the previous generation that you can save a lot of money on, wear without worry, and then have refinished back to near-new when the time for a service comes.
